Snap happy Cheshire school boy lives dream job for a day

Aviation photography enthusiast and budding aircraft engineer Michael Davies enjoyed a dream day of work experience with Loganair at Liverpool Airport earlier this month.

The 12-year-old from Widnes in Cheshire wrote a letter to Loganair about his passion for photographing planes and shared some of his recent images of Loganair aircraft. Highlights of his portfolio are posted by Michael’s mum on Instagram @Michael_photography____, where he has amassed almost 500 followers.

The team at Loganair were impressed and responded with an invitation for Michael to join professional photographer Raymond Farley at Liverpool Airport. Michael eagerly accepted, and on Tuesday, 3 January, Raymond shared expert tips as they hopped onboard, met Captain Bruce Campbell and captured images of Loganair’s ERJ-145, inside and out.

Michael’s Mum, Emma Eager, said:

“Michael has autism and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, but he shows me every day that it doesn’t matter what challenges life throws at you, you can still go out there, follow your passions and achieve great things.

“Taking photos of aeroplanes has become a wonderful hobby for Michael as it helps him get out in the fresh air and learn new skills. He loved his day with Loganair at Liverpool Airport, and we’re so thankful for this kind gesture.”

Alongside the day coordinated at Liverpool Airport, Loganair also gifted Michael and his family return tickets to travel anywhere on its network.
