Aberdeen celebrates connectivity milestone with Norway
Today (5 September) marks one year since Loganair’s revival of direct flights between Aberdeen and the Norwegian capital Oslo.
Last year, Loganair, the UK’s largest regional airline and largest operator at Aberdeen Airport, introduced six flights per week to Oslo Gardermoen Airport and later introduced a one-stop same-plane service from Newcastle to Oslo via Aberdeen.
To celebrate today’s milestone, Loganair gifted customers Brian Skene and Ellen Holmerud on this morning’s service with a pair of tickets to fly anywhere on the airline’s network.
Operated by Loganair’s 49-seat Embraer 145 Jet aircraft, the route has proven particularly important for business travel in the energy sector thanks to the growing international oil and gas exports for both Scotland and Norway.
Leisure travellers have also taken advantage of the direct route for short city breaks to explore everything from art, architecture and history to Oslo’s vibrant nightlife and tempting culinary scene.
Oslo is just one of three Norwegian cities where Loganair operates, with the airline also currently offering services to Bergen and Stavanger from Edinburgh and Newcastle. Customers travelling from Norway to Scotland can also benefit from onward connections in Loganair's extensive route network across the UK.
