Santa upgrades his sleigh in Loganair’s new Christmas ad
Watch out, Rudolph, you have competition! Santa has spread his wings and discovered the benefits of Loganair, according to the airline’s latest Christmas advert.
The 30-second festive film, which will be debuted online this December, features a Loganair aircraft on a snowy runway. Inside, the seats and overhead lockers are filled with gifts. The only passenger on board is a happy Santa, who is enjoying the in-flight hospitality – a coffee and Tunnock’s caramel wafer – before stretching out ahead of a relaxing flight.
The advert, which also stars real-life Loganair flight crew manager Captain Scott Menzies and Rachael Speller in the flight deck, and cabin crew member Audrey Jones, was filmed at Glasgow Airport. It ends with a reindeer looking quizzically to the camera as the aircraft taxis for take off.
Loganair’s latest Christmas film follows the success of its first-ever festive TV advert in 2021. The campaign centred on Loganair mascots Logan and Lottie Bear, who, after being parted, are reunited in time for Christmas Day by real-life Captain Lionel McLean and his wife Linda, a senior ground and in-flight trainer.
Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer, Loganair, said:
“We’re grateful to Santa for agreeing to guest star in our film, and we hope he remembers we have 42 aircraft flying to more than 70 routes across our network. We don’t want to put his reindeer out of a job, but any time he needs a lift, we’re here for it.”
Loganair’s new Christmas advert rounds up a remarkable year for the airline.
As well as celebrating its 60th anniversary, it was also recently named the CAPA 2022 Regional Airline of the Year, being singled out by judges for its commitment to maintaining crucial connectivity for remote communities while continuing to grow its network.
