Urgent update to Loganair customers due to travel between 21 December 2020 and 30 January 2021
All customers are requested to please read the information provided which sets out our policies and refrain, if at all possible, from calling our call centre.
Responses to social media enquiries will also be limited over the next couple of days as we help customers affected by the latest travel restrictions.
Following the announcements by the Prime Minister and First Minister on Saturday 19 December around the spread of a new variant of the Covid-19 virus, the travel restrictions will lead to many customers being unable to continue with plans over the coming weeks, and the Christmas period in particular. Given the restrictions, we are moving to an emergency schedule with effect from Tuesday 22 December, which will continue to provide service on the following routes:
Aberdeen-Kirkwall & return
Aberdeen-Manchester & return
Aberdeen-Norwich & return
Aberdeen-Sumburgh & return
City of Derry-London Stansted & return
Glasgow-Barra & return
Glasgow-Benbecula & return
Glasgow-Campbeltown & return
Glasgow-Islay & return
Glasgow-Stornoway & return
Glasgow-Tiree & return
Inverness-Stornoway & return
Isle of Man-Liverpool & return
Isle of Man-London Heathrow & return
Isle of Man-Manchester & return
Kirkwall-Sumburgh & return
Orkney inter-isles air services
All dedicated freight and mail services, and those for the oil & gas industry
For these routes, there may still be changes to timetables as we will be flying a reduced number of services.
Loganair services on all other routes will be temporarily discontinued from 06:00 on Tuesday 22 December and are planned to resume on 1 February 2021.
Where your flight has been cancelled, we will offer a full refund or the option to place your booking on hold for use at a future date within 12 months. There will be no change fee or difference in fare payable if and when you subsequently come to re-arrange your travel on the route on which you’re booked to fly.
You will receive an email which will have the option to choose a refund or put your booking on hold by 8pm this evening, 20 December.
If you are booked to travel on any Loganair route between 22 December and 18 January 2021 (when the social restrictions in Scotland are scheduled to revert to their previous levels, but your flight continues to operate), we can offer options to put your booking on hold for travel at a future date or to obtain a full refund.
You will receive an email confirming your options today 20 December. Please do not call our contact centre if at all possible as we expect lines to be extremely busy.
If your route is operating and you are continuing to travel in line with the Government guidelines and legislation, you do not need to take any action. However, as travel on all routes (and to and from the Scottish Islands in particular) is subject to restrictions for essential travel only, we request and require that you carry proof of the essential nature of your journey – such as a key worker confirmation letter or identity – with you.
Loganair’s FlySafe healthy flying protocols will remain in place on every flight that we operate. Your safety and security are always of paramount importance to us, and should the developments in the fight against Covid-19 require any changes or enhancements, please rest assured that we will not hesitate to act straight away.
