HIAL Air Traffic Control Industrial Action – Tuesday 21st May
We have been notified of closures at Stornoway Airport next Tuesday (21 May) as a result of industrial action by Air Traffic Controllers. Efforts by Loganair to agree an alternative course of action to enable controllers to meet their regulated safety breaks and minimise disruption to our customers and our flights have been refused, and we therefore regret that our only option is to cancel six flights to and from Stornoway. These are:
- LM341 Edinburgh-Stornoway
- LM342 Stornoway-Edinburgh
- LM470 Glasgow-Stornoway
- LM471 Stornoway-Glasgow
- LM478 Glasgow-Stornoway
- LM479 Stornoway-Glasgow
If you’re booked on one of the above flights, you can transfer your booking free of charge to an alternative Loganair service on Monday 20th, Tuesday 21st or Wednesday 22nd May. You can do this via the “manage my booking” function on our website or by calling our Customer Contact Centre on 0344 800 2855. Alternatively, if you wish to cancel your flight, you can obtain a full refund including for any other Loganair flights within your booking. We’re unfortunately unable to assist with changing or refunding flights booked with other airlines which may form part of your travel plans.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience to our customers that we understand will be caused by these cancellations. If we had any viable alternative open to us to avoid this disruption, we would have taken it. However, in the face of continued industrial action by HIAL Air Traffic Control staff and no talks scheduled between the parties to resolve the dispute, the consequences for our customers have become unavoidable.
