Stroll around ...

If you prefer your Middle Ages served with shops, cafes and bars, then all the better, they’re here. Walk the length of Bryggen to Bergenhus fortress, explore the charming Nordnes and Sandviken districts, take in one of the many galleries and museums, or call by the home of composer Edvard Grieg, and you’re just starting to make the most of Bergen’s attractions.
Cable car and funicular trips can carry you up into some of the seven imposing mountains that cradle the city. You can go walking, kayaking, rafting, fishing, segwaying and more, and if the exercise and fresh North Sea air pique your appetite, that’s okay, because Bergen is renowned for its seafood, lamb and game dishes.
