Below the waters of Scapa Flow are wrecks of the German Grand Fleet, scuttled in 1919 and now providing fascinating diving grounds. Above you, watch for the magical aurora borealis.

Skara Brae

Skara Brae is a stone-built Neolithic settlement, located on the Bay of Skaill on the west coast of Mainland, the largest island in the Orkney archipelago of Scotland. Consisting of eight clustered houses, it was occupied from roughly 3180 BC to about 2500 BC and is Europe's most complete Neolithic village.

The Stones of Stenness

The Stones of Stenness make up one of the four Heart of Neolithic Orkney sites. Four upright stones up to 6m in height stand in a circle that originally held 12 stones. The stones are thought to be the oldest stone circle in the British Isles!
