Advice For Travel Trade With Bookings Affected By Flybe Closure

As you may already be aware, Flybe has sadly ceased trading with immediate effect and will no longer be operating any further air services.

Understandably this is a distressing time for both the employees of Flybe and customers who have travel plans with the airline. Furthermore, Loganair wishes to make it as clear as possible how we can assist those affected and to provide advice in cases where we cannot.

Our Chief Executive, Jonathan Hinkles said: “The collapse of a long-standing airline like Flybe marks a desperately sad day, especially for the airline’s dedicated team of employees and for customers facing disruption to their journeys"

How are my customer's bookings affected?
  • Bookings on 682 tickets containing codeshare sectors that were planned to be operated by Flybe, will:

    • Be offered a full refund if the Flybe sector is not for a route planned to be operated by Loganair
    • Be offered a full refund if the Flybe sector is for travel prior to the commencement of replacement Loganair operated services
    • Be re-accommodated onto new Loganair operated sectors if the booking is for travel post-commencement of the new Loganair sectors
  • If the booking solely contains Loganair operated sectors (i.e point-point Loganair operated flights only), tickets remain valid for travel on Loganair services and customers can be advised to check-in as normal.

If the booking contains any Flybe operated sectors, customers should be advised to contact the issuer of the card with which they used to make the original booking or their insurer.

  • Loganair cannot accept any Flybe bookings or Flybe tickets (267) issued via a Travel Agent for any new routes it plans to operate. Those customers must either contact their Travel Agent or Card Issuer for a refund and then re-book onto the new Loganair services.

Routes Protected By Loganair

Loganair will safeguard UK regional connectivity by taking up 18 routes formerly flown by Flybe, with the addition of around 400 new flights each week

The 18 routes – from existing Loganair base airports at Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Newcastle – will be launched progressively over the next three months. The majority of these key air routes will commence as early as next week.

All flights are already on sale at loganair.co.uk and via GDS
